About Thrive Photography
Thrive Photography is an award-winning professional studio based on the Sunshine Coast in the hinterland town of Eudlo ( near Palmwoods, about 10 minutes off the highway).
Thrive Photography is a family business run by Richard and Tracey Grenfell. Richard is the primary photographer, and Tracey keeps the business running with the million administrative tasks required for any small business. We also are blessed with incredible hair and makeup artists and specialist photographers who come into the studio on an as-needed basis.
About the Studio
About Richard (me)
I am close to being a genuine local, even though I was born in Melbourne and not Nambour Hospital. I went to Buderim Primary School and Maroochydore High School in the 80s.
I have been married to my remarkably tolerant wife for over 30 years (many say she deserves a medal ), and we live on acreage in the hinterland with our daughter, who goes to Uni, and two dogs, two cats, and assorted chooks.
I have not always been a photographer. I was a professional musician and also taught guitar at a school called Matthew Flinders Anglican College in the 90s. After that, I decided to change careers and worked for a computer company as a network engineer. A few years later, Tracey and I established our own IT company that serviced professional offices such as legal, medical and accountants which we went on to sell.
Interests include reading, movies, walking up hills with our dog, playing music, and yelling at the TV when my football team are playing.
About Tracey
Tracey is from Sydney but moved here when she married Richard and has been here ever since.
Previously Tracey worked as the administrator in the computer company we owned and went on to be the owner-manager of a retail shop.
Tracey has incredible attention to detail and has a black belt in business administration. In addition to keeping Richard on task, she keeps on top of everything at the studio and ensures all of our clients are cared for before and after the photography sessions.
Her interests include anything to do with chasing a ball. She coaches representative netball teams, is always playing in up to 627 netball teams at any given time and religiously plays squash with the girls every Thursday.
